Weddings
One of the things we love about the Washington, DC area is how much of a melting pot it is – there are people of all different backgrounds, race, and ethnicities who have chosen to make our nation’s capital their home. Such is the case for our local DC couple, Anya and Lamin, who tied the knot at Bretton Woods in Germantown this past fall. Anya grew up in Russia until she moved to the US with her family in middle school, while Lamin has lived throughout Africa, spending time in the Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Tunisia before ultimately relocating to Virginia for college. Their paths eventually crossed in another very DC-esque nature – on their recreational soccer team (adult coed sports are a huge deal here!). From that moment on, the two were inseparable. Their wedding was a beautiful reflection of their love, intermingling Anya’s classic poise and elegance with elements of Lamin’s African background, including a Kora player at cocktail hour. Moreover, they both got ready and had portraits taken at one of our favorite hotels in the the district, The St. Regis DC, which offered the most gorgeous backdrops. We also had the pleasure of teaming up with some of our favorite colleagues and vendors, so be sure to check out the credits at the bottom of the post!
