A Wedding Reception at Altos de Chavon’s Amphitheater

This is the third part of D+S’ Wedding Weekend blogposts. In the previous two we shared their Rehearsal Dinner and their Welcome Party. If you missed them, go take a look!

Their wedding day started with their Ceremony at gorgeous waterfront Casa Alegre private villa in Casa de Campo. D+S are Jewish, but they didn’t want to have a super traditional wedding. So the first step outside of the box was the round chuppah. Designed from scratch by our team, this altar had the perfect Caribbean sea backdrop, so we didn’t have to add to much! Cocktails followed immediately after in the adjacent area of the villa. A little bit of rain came through (surprise surprise, le sigh), but guests had an ample gazebo where to safeguard themselves and keep the celebration going! And as the typical tropical rain, it stopped almost right away, leaving us with clear skies for the rest of the night, woot woot.

Once Cocktail Hour ended, guests were shuttled to the mediterranean village replica of Altos de Cahvón, about 15 minutes away from Casa Alegre. They entered the Amphitheater and were blown away with the creative use of the space. We extended the stage so we could have enough space for their large reception, and custom built two seats of balcony on each side to add-on enough seating area. To play off the shape of the space, we went for a round dancefloor with a same shape install on top. DJ Vikas Sapra and his musicians entertained all night, bringing the party for this NY crowd to the beautiful Dominican Republic.
