Carmen and Frank got married this past Winter Season in Las Terrenas, in the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Being a third wedding in this family, this is a privilege we do not take lightly, and we cannot wait to see C+F grow in love and blessings!

Here’s a bit about their wedding:

For their wedding day, we aimed to intertwine the essences of the ceremony and reception venues with the personalities and preferences of the couple. Embracing simplicity, elegance, and a touch of tropical charm, the decor reflects the couple’s love for travel and their deep connection to Las Terrenas.

For the ceremony at Hotel Sublime Samaná‘s beach front garden, we decided for a non-traditional seating arrangement, with various row segments, facing a round terracotta platform with the palm trees and the ocean as backdrop. Floor arrangements with mixed botanicals blended perfectly with wood and wicker chairs and with the natural surroundings of the space.

The Cocktail Hour and Reception were held at a private property called Villa Simba. Drawing inspiration from the town and the villa, the color palette represented warmth and sophistication. We used neutral tones, where white dominated in the linens and vases, and shades of brown came through via wooden elements (tables, chairs, chargers, hanging dancefloor ornaments). We incorporated green with the botanical centerpieces, and hints of terracotta in various details, such as table numbers, the seating chart and the dancefloor design. All these combined elements gave a sense of simple, organic, yet refined beauty, while mirroring the tones of the surrounding landscape and architecture.

Since traveling together meant a lot to the couple, they wanted to make reference to this on their wedding somehow. We came up with the idea of incorporating geographic details into the decor. We asked the couple to make a list of the most important cities they’ve traveled together and with the answers made up a highly personalized seating chart. The chart assigned each guest to a city in a central panel. Since each city was also assigned a table number (for easiness of flow), the guests had to discover which was their table number by opening a small window located on two side panels that had on the cover the silhouette and name of the respective city. Inside each window, there was a sky portrait (mimicking the view of the sky from a plane window) with the table number. The knobs of the windows were wicker, the same texture as different pieces guest will interact with in the reception area. The last nod to their love for travel was that once guests got to their seat, they’d find a placecard with the silhouette of the Dominican Republic.

After a three course dinner, by the wonderful catering team of Flor de Sal, guests enjoyed a night of dancing, enjoying Dominican and italian dances, in honor of both heritages, and then a night of hit after hit that left the dancefloor packed at all times with DJ Poché in the booth.
