J+A’s Jewish-Indian destination wedding began at Minitas Beach Club at Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic with a welcome party and haldi ceremony. Our goal was to blend Jewish and Indian traditions with a relaxed Caribbean setting, creating an opening celebration that felt meaningful and easy.
We created a souvenir market inspired by the blend of all of our cultures. Guests enjoyed cigars, ice cream, beach games, various food and drink stations, and curated keepsakes as they moved through the space. A dohl player set the rhythm for the afternoon, and music played continuously, inviting guests to dance and celebrate together.
Yellow guided the design throughout the space, representing positive energy and protection, setting the intention for the days ahead. The décor enhanced the natural beauty of the beach club without overwhelming it. Florals by Garden Roses added warmth and texture, while rentals from Eventos del Cibao helped define the layout. Custom elements, including the beach bar by Eccentrico Studio, introduced playful and personal details that reflected both cultures.
Guests arrived dressed in white and received a yellow kerchief, a traditional element of the haldi ceremony. During the haldi, family and friends applied turmeric paste to the couple, a special ritual believed to bring blessings, joy, and good fortune before the wedding.
Momentos de Una Vida and Laguna Santa traveled all the way from Spain to capture this celebration and the many meaningful moments that defined the wedding weekend.
This is the first chapter of a three-part Jewish–Indian luxury destination wedding weekend in the Dominican Republic.
